Books for sale ~ how to order

Our stock list is available here as pdf files which can be viewed onscreen or downloaded on to your computer to be read later. The list is updated periodically as our stock and wanted lists change. If you have any problems accessing the pdfs please contact us and we can send them in another format. Check out the 'News & Offers' page for an update on any events that we may be attending or any special offers/reductions that we may offer from time to time.

The list is divided into sections and books are listed with details of the author, title, year of publication/edition and a brief assessment of their condition. All books are in a nice condition, largely reflected by their age, and many recent titles are 'as new'. Generally previous owner’s signatures/addresses, gift inscriptions, bookplates and price clipped dust jackets are not noted. Details of the books contents are not listed, so if you would like more information about this, or if you have any other questions about any books of interest, please contact us.

Are you looking for a particular title?

With a regular turnover of stock, we are happy to look out for that elusive title that you are searching for and we can carry out book searches. Wants lists are welcomed and if a book is found it will be offered with a price, including postage, with no obligation to buy.

Books wanted ~ do you have books to sell?

We are always looking to buy in stock covering all aspects of natural history and can offer a cash price or a part-exchange value. We would be pleased to receive a list of any books you have to sell either with your asking price or we can make an offer. Books should be in a very good/fine condition with dust wrappers where issued. For larger collections we can usually travel to view / collect - for smaller collections we make an allowance for delivery.

BIRD REPORTS & JOURNALS - UPDATE

We have for a number of years been pleased to offer a catalogue issued by Steve Holliday.

After some consideration, Steve has decided to wind down and to refocus on what he can offer in the future:

"I have, for several years, been helping collectors find those sought-after birding journals and bird reports. My aim has been to not make a loss during this time and to find good homes for those unwanted journals e.g. by making numerous donations to various individuals. Going forward, I will be maintaining my own catalogue for reference purposes (pdf copies available on request), showing which reports & journals are held but I am also happy to try and assist in finding obscure reports and the like. I will maintain a ‘wants list’ should you be seeking anything specific but, I will, in the main, not be purchasing new/old material. I am however happy to be contacted should you require any help & advice on how to dispose of unwanted journals."
